Areometer ANT-1

The areometer — the device for measurement of density of liquids which principle of work is based on Archimedes's Law.

The areometer represents a glass tube which lower part at calibration is filled with fraction or mercury for achievement of necessary weight. In the top, narrow part there is a scale which is graduated in values of density. As density of liquids strongly depends on temperature, the areometer is supplied sometimes with the thermometer.

Areometers are used to measurement:

1. Electrolyte density in acid and alkaline accumulators.
2. Density of whole and skim milk, oil and oil products.
3. Density of solutions of salts and acids, solutions of cement, concrete, etc.
