Lime extinguished and not extinguished

Calcium hydroxide (lime extinguished) turns out in the course of calcium oxide clearing (or limes not extinguished) water, this process is called hydration. When clearing lime plentiful allocation of heat and significant increase in its volume is observed.
Extinguished lime (other name - pushonka lime, hydrate lime) represents powdery substance of white color. At the subsequent dilution by water limy dough, and also, depending on an amount of water, limy milk turns out.
Chemical hydroxide of calcium belongs to the class of the bases.

Extinguished lime is widely used in construction and repair work. It is applied as a ready-made product as dry whitewashing, soluble water, and just as one of components in such construction solutions as mixes to a shpatlevaniye, by plaster, silicate concrete and a brick. Increases plasticity, water resistance of construction material.
Besides construction, extinguished lime is used in agriculture for production of limy fertilizers, for fight against parasites and diseases of trees, for disinfection of household rooms.
Also hydroxide of calcium finds application in stomatology, in the food industry (an additive food - E526, purification of drinking water, production of sugar), in metallurgy, in pulp-and-paper production, in tanning production for a tanning of skin.
Extinguished lime softens water, neutralizing its carbonate rigidity.
It is used for production of natronny lime, chloric lime.
